On #smchat we spend a lot of time discussing theory, but next week on Sept. 30, 2009 we'll be discussing the basics of implementation. Specifically we'll be sharing examples of social media tactics you have used.
As we've often discussed, social media should be goal driven. We need to begin with a plan on what we want to accomplish, identify our target audience, create a strategy, then implement the tactics.
I've written a framing blog entry,
Goal-driven social media strategies & tactics: how are you inte... that offers further examples.
For the purpose of the discussion I'll break down the questions as follows:
Q21A (15 min) Quickly share 1 or 2 goals you've had for social media. (Increase brand recognitions, sell product, monitor your brand, customer service.) This will give us the context to understand your strategies.
Q21B Give examples of strategies and tactics you have used to achieve these goals.
Q21C How did the campaigns were out? Were you successful? How did you measure that success? Were your measurements qualitative? Quantitative? Was there a clear ROI?
If there is anything else you think we should cover in this discussion, please post your suggestions below. And of course after the discussion wraps up you can continue to share your experiences and examples here as well.
