The Power of Social Media
Q25 MIND MAPS 101
Have you heard lots of talk about "mind maps" and been at a loss? Me too. At least until I did some investigation. Now I'm sold on a powerful new technology that helps us visualize complex relationships among ideas.
Sure, visualization techniques like these are decades old. But once they were only understood by innovation experts and process engineers. As in so many other aspects of Social Media, the ability to visualize and communicate rich content is becoming ever more accessible to the rest of us.
Here's the story of my first attempt at a mind map, as framing for Mind Maps 101, describing the process I went through, and the result, as a sample.
And here's a great interview with Chuck Frey, an acknowledged expert in the field, who will be our special guest at SMCHAT today. Thanks so much to Kelly (@KRCraft) for surfacing the interview.

Just updated the sample map, because I had a request to simplify it for discussion. New thumbnail matches new PDF page 1 (version 1.2a) and original diagram is now PDF page 2 (version 1.2b). If you have any problems downloading PDF and a refresh/retry doesn't work, DM or EM me and I'll shoot you a copy.

Ahhh now I see the agenda, it makes sense what we were talking about today. Still it was a blast even without knowing what was going on.
